A Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) was submitted to Belfast City Council on the 26th July 2023. The submission of the PAN represents the beginning of a 12 week Pre-application Community Consultation (PACC) process. Giants Park Belfast Limited (GPBL) are pleased to be progressing the first phase of these proposals on then the northern area of the Giants Park site.
The proposal description includes the following:
"Creation of a new shared recreational space comprising a community/visitor hub building, community gardens, children's play facilities, walking/running/cycle paths, bird hides and link to tow-path. All associated infrastructure (drainage, lighting, car/coach parking etc) will also be provided."
The Proposals
The shared spaces of the proposal will create a dynamic environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds come together to interact, collaborate, and coexist. The proposal will provide a space for the growth of community cohesion. In facilitating interactions, the proposal will promote inclusivity and nurture shared experiences. These will create an environment in Giant's Park, where people not only coexist but thrive together, contributing to a stronger, more connected, and supportive community. Proposal breakdown
The Proposals are for the creation of a 'welcome zone' within the Giants Park site. The development relates to some 74ha of the wider site and will comprise a conservation led development that can be broken down as follows:
1.New shared recreational space,
2.Visitor/community hub
3.Community garden areas
4.Parking facilities for cars, coaches and caravans)
5.Bird Hides
6.Walking, running and cycle Trails
7.Childrens Play Area
8.Lighting
9.Link to tow path
10. Other Ancillary works

Pre-application Community Consultation (PACC)
The purpose of this website is to provide our vision and aspirations for Giants Park, Belfast. We are now seeking your views on the proposals subject to the Proposal of Application Notice which will inform the future planning application that will be submitted to Belfast City Council later this year. We are committed to an open, accessible and transparent stakeholder and public engagement process. We would encourage you provide some feedback on the scheme in which further details will be uploaded in due course.
